About

The Hilltop Cockers are raised in Oregon’s Beautiful Willamette Valley. Proprietor and breeder, Barbara Hill, is a dog lover and Cocker Spaniel fancier. Barbara adopted her first Cocker Spaniel, Molly, as a pet for her children in 1989, though Barbara’s connection to dogs goes back to her own early childhood. Barbara’s grandmother bred German Short-Hair Pointers on a sprawling property in North Carolina. Barbara enjoyed visiting and playing with the 30+ dogs in her care at every visit.

Breeding History

Barbara’s early experiences with dog breeding were with Irish Setters, followed by Rottweilers and now present-day Cocker Spaniels.

Hilltop History

During the pandemic, Barbara purchased a picturesque country property in the gentle rolling hills of South Salem to begin building her Cocker Spaniel kennel. Barbara is fond of the Cocker Spaniel breed for their beauty, temperament, distinct personalities, small stature and affectionate nature.
